Drown With the Rest of Them
Good afternoon from Volcanoless!
We're ecstatic to announce that we're releasing a brand spankin' new recording at precisely 11:59pm on Tuesday, December 4th via our Myspace site.
The track is called 'Drown With the Rest of Them'. In his lyrics, Mitch is portraying an examination of the reasons and purposes of creating music for its' own sake, aside from competitive or marketing reasons. We've been experiencing this pressure as a band over the past year through our increasing successes, and we're constantly treading that fine line where we only want to play music for fun while being so engaged and obsessed with making music a full-time occupation.
The song's currently being mastered by the amazing Jamie Sitar (You Say Party! We Say Die!, Shapes & Sizes, Filmmaker) at Suite Sound Mastering in Vancouver. We recorded the song with our good friend Matt Gauthier @ the Track Factoryover a four-day period while we were in Vancouver for New Music West last May.
Check out Matt's Myspace here: YAY!
Thanks to everyone for their continued patience! We promise lots more music very shortly. Mitch is actually recording vocal tracks not 10 feet away from me as I type (more more more new new songs!!). Everything is good.
Everything in it's right place.
A new year... let us at it!
Speaking of the New Year, won't you join and dance with us into 2008??!!! We're playing alongside great friends and rising Saskatoonian superstars The Blood Lines at Amigos' on New Years' Eve, more info can be found
at www.amigoscantina.com
'Drown With the Rest of Them' will be available on our Myspace precisely at
11:59pm Tuesday, December 4th
Enjoy!
Yours in music,
Levi

Halloween Beard
Hi. Happy Halloween out there. I scared a few kids away with my powerful/aparently-very effective 'halloween beard'. Volcanoless is excited to hit Regina tomorrow and then take a big long break to finish all the goodies and neat little ideas for the new album. 2007 was one hell of a way to set off as a first full year for the band, and we cannot WAIT to show you what we have planned to 2008... talk more soon.
p.s. we're pumped to finally have made it CBC Radio 3's attention as apart of the latest FREE downloadable podcast entitled "#127 - Family Matters". Download it from thier website at www.newmusiccanada.com or by downloading free from iTunes, as well. Thanks CBC Radio3! ..and thanks a million to Sydney for the request xoxo

THE WCMA's
hey guys. just wanted to let you know the wcma's were absolutely unreal. we met a lot of really cool people who said a lot of really cool things. we'll hopefully be able to tell you more on some of the things! so much amazing music from so many amazing musicians and friends. great to see everyone, great to be with everyone. at the risk of sounding over-hippie-esque i'm going to close with the fact that i wish you were all there, and that besides a quick jaunt in Queen City next week, there will be no more Volcanoless until 2008! Ola, and gooooodnite

September feels like January again
Saskatchewan was fantastic, and fun. The Yorkton show... yeesh! Talk about one crazy set up in that new Gallagher Centre. Regina was amazing with our friends in NF and both Saskatchewan Festivals were unique and surprising for almost the exact opposite reasons. Thanks so much, and good to see all friends that we got a chance to share the stage with over the past little bit: Geronimo, From Chimpan A to Z, National Frost, Junior Pantherz, the Blood Lines, Keepers of the Groove, Goldensmoke, Bears Attack, Arms Up, Rah Rah, We Were Lovers, These Hands, BunnyHug, etc. etc. etc... I mean it, it's been an honor.
...i dunno?
The Western Canadian Music Awards will be taking place this year in Moose Jaw, SK., and much like the Juno Awards, will host a weekend of showcases scattered across various venues in the city. What's neat is an international delegation of 30 industry personnel from managers to writers to promoters will be coming from the UK, Spain, Australia and the Netherlands to see what us Western Can. acts have to offer. We're extremely excited to have been invited to play!..Our showcase is on Saturday, Oct.19th @ The Royal, 10pm. ...we heard a rumor of a light-up, foot-censored dance floor, not unlike those in Michael J's videos from his prime. Come dance!

'Back to School, Saskatchewan... The Tour'
Music Lovers Unite! What's going on?... St. Catharine's blew us completely away, just like we told you they would. The day was beautiful, the gorgeous people were out and about... how can anyone complain with that amount of music?
We're excited to announce a 'Back to School..' tour of sorts, Saskatchewan-only, mini and small-- just like the population.
The dates are to include some uniqueness and diversity, including outdoor festivals' Field Fest, in Craik- headlined by the Weakerthans, RoadKill Fest, in Dundurn-- headlined by Wide Mouth Mason, Yorkton's 125th City-Wide Birthday Bash, a CD release party in Regina for our good friends National Frost and will be summed up with an adventure to the Western Canadian Music Awards Festival being held (for some reason!) in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan! ...more on that, soon soon soon!

Volcanoless to be 'Seen at SCENE!'
HAPPY CANADA DAY! ...and you bet Volcanoless is celebrating!
Not only did we get back from a complete and successful first tour across our loving nation of Canada, but we came home to find out we've been invited back east, to the wonderful and artistic township of St.Catharine's, Ontario for their annual and beloved S.C.E.N.E. Festival, July 22nd. The festival will take place in the downtown heart of the city, and will host a feast of fantastic Ontario-based/few nationally distributed bands, such as The Constatines, Moneen, Bedouin Soundclash, Madball, etc.. St. Cath's was one of the most amazing stops we had on tour, and we're so happy to have been called back to play! See you there!

Welcome to VolcanolessInCanada.com (!!!)
Volcanoless in Canada is an acoustic-based rock band from Canada aiming at taking the dance floor-- and turning it completely upside down.
Check out music by clicking on the myspace logo to the left, and see how many secrets you can find popping up all over the place. videos & pictures galore for you crazy ipod-wearing hipsters.
We've had a hell of a time over the past few months since our first official CD came out. A huge thank you to everyone who went out and found/bought a copy of the CD. It really means a lot to us in these first initial beginnings. A huge thank you to the boys @ CAB for helping us with everything, as well as Momentum, Ninetimes, Pulse, CFCR90.1, Fox94.1, and Concrete Powder for all the initial help.
Thanks a million to all who joined in the fun of our CD RELEASE party, which took place with our sexy friends from Sylvie, Ghosts, and Activate! (HotDAMN that metal 'lithic' cover was unREAL). Since then, we've partied down and made cute with Our Mercury, with big cheers going out Sunday being a night to party for only the exclusively cool cats.
As for now, we're busy writing the new songs we've accumulated over the past few months of playing shows. We've arranged some beauty recording time with Kevin Gales as well as Matt Gauthier, so get ready for a fresh peek at some of the new material up on myspace in the next few weeks.
Thanks a million to Brendon Purton for the countless hours of unpaid work in getting this site up. Seriously, thank you. Mike Dawson did one hell of a creative layout for the site, and our photo team is always, ALWAYS, appreciated. Thanks Jade, Kelly, Trista, Alexis, Brendon, Dave E.(!), etc...
